For their study of Mathematics (7 hours) the year group is split into two halves. Students from Bridge, Castle and Gordon are then set into groups 1 – 3. The most able students (based on their attainment and progress from Year 7) are placed into set 1. Sets 2 and 3 are of mixed parallel ability. The same applies to students in Pitt, River, Thetford and Tower. Students attend their Life Skills lessons (2 hours) and PE lessons (2 hours) in their Mathematics sets.

At the start of Year 7 students were placed into sets ensuring they all received their first two language choices from either Latin (4 hours), French (4 hours) or Spanish (4 hours). They attend these lessons in their Form groups as noted above.

All students attend Games in the afternoon for 1 hour per week where they are placed into 7 sets based on sporting ability.

At the end of Year 8 students will continue onto the same curriculum offer in Year 9 with an addition hour of Mathematics (7 to 8 hours), with one less in Computing (3 to 2 hours).
